I’m in the process of moving and it is a pain. I’ve lifted countless boxes (not with my legs) and have thrown out my back a few times. One of the things I dream about is having my own dolly.
So, its no wonder that today’s post is about welding your own dolly, which is a simple project for even a beginning welder. Here’s a tutorial for a round dolly, which you can easily tweak for your needs.
All you’ll need for this project is some steel slats, castors and a good MIG welder like these.
While I was searching the web for some dolly tutorials I ran across something very cool.
This trailer dolly may not look like much but it will attach
to your hitch and will maneuver your trailer, boat or camper into very tight
spaces.
According to the tutorial, this trailer dolly should only take a few hours for a beginner to complete.
Unlike a lot of welding tutorials on the web, this tutorial provides realistic step-by-step instructions and magnified pictures to help you complete the project.
Like the tutorial above, you’ll only need a few pieces of pipe, washers, wheels, a trailer ball and a MIG welder.
Adjust the project to suit your needs. If your trailer is bigger, use a bigger dolly. If your short perhaps you wont need a very long handle.
When you’re done with yours, make one for me.
